Febrifugo2:  Count Mattei “I have seen congestion, enlargements, obstructions, and enormous and obstinate indurations of the hepatic substances; disappear under the actions of FEBRIFUGOS. When given at commencement, before the disease has completely established, they are capable of stamping it out; and when they cannot entirely expel it they certainly relieve and moderate its violence. Compresses and unctions of F2 over the spleen region give excellent results in all kinds of weakness or disease. This by itself indicates the importance of this viscus, the exact use of which has not yet been discovered by physiologists, indeed there is more than one dark corner in the science which will be illuminated by the light reflected on them by new remedies”.

Dr.A.G.L.Gliddon. “F2 is always associated with F1 in the disease for which that remedy is required; It is applied in ointments and compresses on hypochondria. Sometimes it is used internally in obstinate fevers such as Typhus when the resist the action of F1, in this case it is given in Second or third dilution”.

Dr.N.L.Sinha “Its effect is similar to that of F1 as far as the nervous system is taken into account F2 acts more on the peripheral parts. It is therefore principally applied externally for example in lotions baths or emrocations in cases of neuralgia, cutaneous itching, irritation spasms, convulsions while on other hand F1 is more active on center. The latter acts further, in a more pronounced fashion on the liver and gall, and in the next place on the spleen.

With F2 it is just the reverse. It acts on the first place on the spleen and then secondly on the liver and gall. In consequences of this mutual supplement of activity, F2 is always applied with F1, the former externally the latter internally. However in the chronic or obstinate diseases that resist F1. F2 is often found more penetrating in its efficacy than the first. This especially the case for indurations, tumors, and exiberation of the spleen and liver, for the chronic symptoms resulting from the malaria, tropical fever and intermittent fever, as well as the abuse the quinine, but it is not to be denied that it can well surpass the efficacy of F1 in the treatment of obstinate nervous disorders of the sort we have already described as soon as the improvement, that has perhaps had set in owing to the influence of this last, has come to the dead stop resists the same.

Medicinal properties and the uses of this remedy are the same which have given under F1, It is stronger than F1 and therefore it is generally used externally on the Hypochondria when F1 is used internally and where F1 does little or no good such as plagues typhus fever etc.

Dilutions: Same as mentioned in F1 but a little different may be noticed during practice, over all it is experience that will teach us how to take them even in more higher dilutions than THIRD, if pt is more sensitive and susceptible to the medicines.

Compresses and ointments: Congestive abscess of liver, Hepato-speelnomegaly, on forehead and hypochondria in cases of chronic as well as acute fevers, in obstinate cases of abdominal disorders.

Baths: In chronic cases of convulsions and sunstrokes .
