Pharmacology:
It acts on the left side of the heart, on the arterial system and capillary vessels. It affects the flow of blood to the various tissues and organs or the body. It is applicable in cases of flushing of the face, the rush of blood to the head, humming in the ear, flashes before the eyes, giddiness, dull headache, and even in the cases of cold hands and feet. If applied in proper dilution it regulates the disturbed circulation of the blood.
The weak doses, it retards the circulation, draw the blood vessels together out of the influx of blood into the brain. On the other hand, in strong doses, it increases the blood circulation, dilates the blood vessels in the hands and feet, and increases the influx of blood thither.
