Pharmacology:
Sphere of action is on the glands and mucous membranes especially on liver, gall bladder, spleen, great intestine and rectum, together with the vegetative nervous system, and province of the portal vein. To be applied in cases of severe cancerous disease of these spheres combined with equally radical functional disorders of the same; for instance, indurations of the liver and spleen, cancer, consequences of malaria and quinine treatment, or rather the decline arising from the latter, chronic constipation in consequence of functional disorders and degeneration of the intestinal mucous membrane and glands, gall stones. It acts on glands and mucous membranes, improves glandular function and reduces inflammation of spleen. It is used in enlargement of fatty liver, hepatitis, inflammation of spleen, habitual constipation, and stone of gallbladder. In stone of gallbladder, its simultaneous use achieves better results.
